BORN in April 1, 1940 in Kikuyu tribe, Wangari Muta Mary Jo Maathai, has became a woman to remember, not only for her succession of Nobel Peace Prize of 1985 but the history of her divorce and the formulation of the name ‘Maathai.’

But in 1977 the couple decided to separate, it was not known  what was the reasons for their separation, but  from the corridor many things has been said about the couple.
In 1979 Mwangi filed a case to the court asking for divorce, some of the details in that case, Mwangi has accused his wife Wangari for adultery, he also claimed that she was ‘too strong-minded for a woman’ that  he was ‘unable to control her.’ The Judge ruled the case in favour of Mwangi.
After that ruling Mwangi again filed a case asking the court to force Wangari to drop his surname of Mathai. But Wangari became a creative woman, she decided to add an extra ‘a’ and to be Maathai instead of Mathai.
